My salon in Soho is my first venture into the big smoke, and I’ve filled it with the best stylists and colourists in London. One magazine described it as a Grease meets Star Wars kind of space which pretty much sums up the designs that me and my friends have worked so furiously on.

We’ve tried to make the salon look slightly space-aged, but perhaps in the way that people in the 70’s looked at the future. A sort of futuristic – retro if that doesn’t sound too cheesey. It seems to have worked because my first client on the first day of opening said, if there was a salon in heaven this would surely be it.

Obviously this salon had to have my signature; the Staffordshire bull terrier. The image that dominates the interior was an inspired idea by my photographer and friend, Wolfgang Mustang.

I’ve also tried inject a sense of humour into the space; with a two-way mirror in the loo so you can see out, but obviously no-one can see in, we call this the white knuckle ride. There’s also a TV monitor in the back wash so you don’t miss out on the fun and computers so that you can check your email, play games or even surf the internet while you wait (if you are doing this in the salon now, then I’ll be with you in a minute).

The real stars of the show, far above the design, are my friends that I’ve assembled here and tried to inspire. Did you know that the stylists that work here have been in the top six finalists in fifteen different British Hairdressing Awards and won three times, so you really do get the best of the best when you come here.

We've also got the crème de la crème of the beauty world in the salon, with celebrity beauty therapist Lena Jackson on-hand with the latest hi-tech treatments. On offer are CACI Facials, Dermalogica face and body treatments and Jessica Nail Maintenance.
