Week Three

Programmes 11 to 15

Episode 11

Lee Stafford standing in his Soho Salon reception

My arbitration skills are put to the test as Carlo and our builder Nigel are at logger-heads and I’ve got to smooth over the cracks—in their friendship, not Nigel’s work. Later Faithless’ Sister Bliss drops in for trim and a chat, before I look to King George IV for inspiration and visit his Brighton Royal Pavilion.

Episode 12

The Brighton Salon is quickly approaching completion with the chandeliers and mirrors going in, but I still need bits and pieces so go on the fitting and furnishings equivalent of Supermarket Sweep. Just when we think everything is going fine Carlo and me find that there is a problem with the delivery of the designer hairdressing chairs.

Leaha Woods, the daughter of the Rolling Stones’ Ronnie, drops in for a styling before a gig and following her visit my Dad takes a look round the salon and gives his views. By now though the pressure of the new salon is getting to everyone; the schedule has over-run, and nobody wants to mention the budget.

Episode 14

The opening day of the salon and everything seems to be finally coming together. It’s not all plain sailing though with the last minute drilling of the staff, we’re all hitting panic stations.

Brighton girl Zoe Ball drops in for a visit and gets to try the vibrating chairs whilst having her hair washed. Also spare a thought for DJ Brooksey from Brighton Radio as he struggles with live radio links and ensuing chaos. Finally my Mum drops by and everything became a little emotional, especially me.

Episode 15

Lee Stafford styling a girl’s hair

With the salon opening and the final episode of the Hairdresser being filmed there is only one thing for it, I’ve got to throw a party. First though Scott Maslen, the Bill’s DS Hunter drops in for a cut, then it’s on to the Essex Business Awards; and I actually walk away with one. With the salon complete I treat myself to a little extravagance, a Porsche.

Then it’s time for a party, the grand opening of my Brighton Salon and a fond fair well to the camera crew.
